The breakdown of the causes of death by age groups. The breakdown and proportion of the patients who died of CVD, infection, and malignancy were demonstrated in black, gray, and open bars, respectively. The proportions of CVD as a cause of death were almost equal across age groups except for the group with 45–59 years old. On the other hand, the patients who died of infection were more prevalent in the older patients. Because the patients who died of other causes of death were omitted, the proportions do not sum up to 100%. The figure was produced from the data in reference [15]. CVD, cardiovascular disease
