The age groups at the start of dialysis therapy were 30–44, 45–59, 60–74, and 75–89 years old in panels a, b, c, and d, respectively. Primary diagnoses of glomerulonephritis, nephrosclerosis, and diabetes are shown in black, dark gray, and pale gray, respectively. The differences in survival decreased as the age at the start of dialysis increased. This figure was reproduced from reference [47]
