From: Proposal of peritoneal biopsy procedures for patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis
Peritoneal histology sampled appropriately from a patient with clinically diagnosed encapsulating peritoneal sclerosis. This sample is characterized by the following features: mesothelial cell denudation, remarkable submesothelial compact zone thickening with collagenous tissue degeneration, arteriolar calcification, and capillary and post-capillary venule (PCV) obliteration.
