Schematic flow chart depicting the study schedule. The eligible patients were divided into three groups. Each group comprised six patients (StDi-1, StDi-2, and CiDi). The evaluation days were the second and third dialysis days of each week, and five treatment conditions were applied once in each group. On evaluation days, blood samples were collected to assess the total and ionized magnesium and calcium levels in the serum before and after dialysis. HD was performed on treatment days apart from the evaluation day. StDi, standard dialysate; CiDi, citrate dialysate; HD, hemodialysis
