Principle of water electrolysis and chemical properties of electrolyzed water at the cathode side. Water electrolysis supplies electrons to the cathode side. Electrons at the cathode surface react with hydrogen ions (H+) in water to produce theoretical intermediate hydrogen atoms and the final product, i.e., hydrogen molecules (H2), by a chemical process. Chemical properties of electrolyzed water are characterized by alkalinity and the presence of dissolved hydrogen molecules (H2)
